Nicholas A. Vertucci, Jr., age 90 of Trumbull, passed away September 7, 2022. Nicholas was born in Bridgeport, August 12, 1932, son of the late Nicholas A. and Elizabeth Tamas Vertucci. Nicholas was a graduate of Harding High School of Bridgeport, Class of 1951 and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Forice serving overseas in Sembach, Germany where he served in the 66th Tactical Recon Wing and the 66th Communications Squad as a radio operator. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, he was a self-employed seamless leaders and gutters installer for many years until his retirement. He was a member of the Stern Village Men’s Club and an avid collector of trivia and sharing his memories of growing up in Bridgeport. He is survived by his daughters Lori Jones and her husband Trevor, Debbie Hernandez and her husband David, and Teri Vertucci, his grandchildren Luke Jones and his wife Lexi, Marcus Jones and his wife Ashley, Christopher Hernandez and his wife Patricia, Alexandra Hernandez and Nicholas Hernandez, his great-grandchildren Lily, Colton, Ayden, and Jaxson, his in-laws Lynn Paternoster and her husband Carl, Barbara Gabriel, and Roger “Buddy” Gabriel, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife Dolores Vertucci, his sisters Caroline Vertucci and Virginia Nyhoff, and his brother Raymond Vertucci. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 17th at 2pm at Christ Episcopal Church, 2000 Main St., Stratford. A reception will follow in the church hall. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
