John M. Lomachinsky

John M. Lomachinsky, 71, entered into eternal rest on January 21, 2023, at St. Vincent’s, surrounded by his loving family.

John was born in Derby on April 14, 1951, son of the late Mary Zelem Lomachinsky.  A resident of Shelton for many years.  He was employed at BFI until his retirement.

John was an avid sports fan and had a huge collection of sports memorabilia.  He enjoyed watching football, baseball, and UCONN Men’s and Women’s basketball.

Johnny enjoyed Thrift Stores, tag sales and on any given day, you might spot him at a Goodwill, searching for bargains.

He enjoyed going to Bingo and playing his numbers.  Johnny was a selfless man, always putting others first.  He loved his family fiercely and enjoyed trips to Minnesota, spending time with them. 

Johnny will be lovingly missed by his family, friends, and all that were fortunate to have him in their lives.

He leaves to cherish his memory, His beloved Debby Lomachinsky of Minnesota.  Sona John Lomachinsky (Becky) of Vermont, William Lomachinsky of Minnesota.  A daughter, Hilary Kahler (John) of South Dakota.  Grandchildren Fiona, Yeva, Gabe, and Dane.  Sisters Klara Patafio of Beacon Falls and Kathleen Lomachinsky of Prospect.  Numerous nieces and nephews. 

A Celebration Of Life will take place in the future. 

We will love you and miss you forever.  You will always be our favorite Newt.
