David Cumming Snyder

David Cumming Snyder, 84, died on January 5, 2022 at Griffin Hospital in Derby. David was born on December 8, 1937 in Newport, RI, son of the late Walter and Louise Cumming Snyder. He graduated from Rogers High School in Newport where he was a member of the track team and Junior ROTC. After attending Bryant College he joined the USAF where he served from 1958 to 1961. Upon leaving the Air Force he joined the General Electric Company followed by Stanley Black and Decker from which he retired in 1998. In retirement he enjoyed traveling the United States and Europe with his beloved wife, fly fishing the rivers of Michigan and New York with his brother Walter and friend Rob, and for 18 years mentoring business owners with the Greater Bridgeport Chapter of SCORE. David leaves his wife of 58 years Mary Jane (Mather), his son Alan of Milford, and his brother Walter and his wife Glenda of Michigan. He was predeceased by his beloved son John. A private burial will be held in RI. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to a charity of your choice is requested.
